I am Valia Giannopoulou, a 3rd year Electrical and Electronics Engineering student at Imperial College London. I am passionate for Digital Design, Computer Architecture, and FPGA Engineering, and interested in expanding and applying my knowledge and work experience on the subject. I am motivated in solving difficult problems via creative & analytical thinking. I am also sensitive to different cultures, a team leader and team player, establishing and fostering strong relationships among team members. I am a quick learner, with strong ability to adapt and evolve in a changing and challenging environment.

FPGA Engineer
Mapped the next generation CPUs onto leading edge FPGA technologies for verification. Developed the flows used to create and run the FPGA images needed to perform accelerated verification of ARM IP products. These include support for performing debug on the FPGA systems to allow IP designers debug any design errors exposed through this accelerated verification. Projects that I was involved in were image creation for various CPU designs, implementation of Virtual JTAG for enabling FPGA prototyping systems to run the Arm debugger without any additional hardware, and Virtual Display for the Arm engineers to be able to view on their computer the signals of the FPGAs, which can no longer be done otherwise due to the hardware being much bigger in size and, thus, being stored in a data center.

Member of the team in the smart cities department involved with the installation and configuration of smart equipment such as Fibaro, Libelium, Airly, and informing for the energy consumption in real-time; collecting data from air quality and weather stations through cloud platform for managing and accessing smart devices; member of the product development and pre-sales team, designing tailor-made solution for customers for smart houses, cities and businesses; involved in writing corresponding strategic business plans.

Analysed reports for finding certain vulnerabilities that have been identified manually by engineers and made the detection autonomous. That is, considered public methods of exploitation of certain software and wrote C++ scripts to make them autonomous. My code would identify privilege escalation cases and vulnerabilities due to outdated software.
